How to join
Undergraduates
All undergraduate students are entitled to a free electronic online membership for the duration of your degree. This includes all the normal benefits of IOP membership, except that you will only have access to the online versions of the magazines Physics World and Interactions; you won't receive any printed copies.
If you would like to receive a printed copy of Physics World to the cost of £15 per annum, please select the option on the online form by ticking the box.

Postgraduates
If you are undertaking postgraduate study in a physics-related area you are entitled to apply for Associate Membership (AMInstP) at a cost of £19 per year (2012 rate). There is an annual discount of £5 available if you pay by direct debit. This membership includes all the benefits of IOP membership including printed copies of Physics World sent to you.

Regrading from Undergraduate to Postgraduate
Please note that your undergraduate student membership will be valid until the autumn after you graduate.
All undergraduates who are graduating in summer 2012 will receive an automated email requesting that they re-grade through MyIOP.
If you do not choose to regrade to either Associate Member or IOPimember by October 2012 your membership will lapse. If you are staying on as an undergraduate, you can also opt to extend your free student membership.
If you are or were previously an undergraduate student member who is wanting to regrade to either Associate Member or to IOPimember or extend their free student membership, please log into MyIOP where you will need to follow the steps for regrading to either membership class.
