Physics Update

As part of its active involvement in supporting physics in schools and colleges, the Institute of Physics arranges courses throughout the year for experienced and practicing teachers of physics.

Physics Update Courses for 2011-2012 

Autumn Physics Update: University of Cambridge, 16-18 December 2011

Spring Physics Update: Royal Holloway, University of London, 30 March-1 April 2012
(Closing date for Spring Physics Update bookings: 16 March 2012)

Summer Physics Update: University of Birmingham, 6-8 July 2012
(Closing date for Summer Physics Update bookings: 22 June 2012)


Cost
There are a limited number of places available at each Physics Update.

Each course costs £140 for a residential place and £80 for a non-residential place; or even less if you or your school/college/ITE centre is a member of the IOP (for IOP members, residential places are just £120 and non-residential places are £65).

These courses are kindly subsidised by the IOP, the Armourers & Brasiers’ Company and SEPnet.

To access programme details and download the presentations/handouts from previous Update courses, please go to the “Physics Update Courses” group on talkphysics.org . Once you’ve logged onto the website, find the group by typing “Physics Update” into the search box (which can be found at the top of the website).


How do I book?
These courses are open to teachers of physics and assume knowledge of A-level physics or beyond. The closing date for booking onto each course is given above. After the closing date, if you wish to be notified of last minute cancellations, please contact Manchi Chung (details below).
