Physics in Perspective
Physics in Perspective is a three-day enrichment course run by the IOP for sixth formers and college students.
Aimed at 6th formers and college students, Physics in Perspective offers - in a period of just three days - insights to the many different aspects of modern physical science.
The next event will take place in London from 17 to 19 February 2013 and will include topics from the cutting edge of physics, up-to-date applications in various technological areas and some 'fun' physics.
The speakers are chosen for their ability to make physics come alive, to illustrate its impact on our lives and to explore its potential to shape the future world with engineering and technology.
Some people see physics as a dry, narrow subject concerned only with certainties and remote concepts. The programme is designed to counteract such misconceptions and to demonstrate the way physics links with a range of other subjects - medicine, materials, modern communications and space exploration to name but a few - to improve the quality of our lives. Modern physics present many challenges but is a rewarding subject too, as our speakers will testify.
